2012 Olympic Games - athletes announced.

Firstly a huge congratulations to Chloe and Ed for earning the Oceania places for the 2012 Olympic Games. After dominating the domestic events, Chloe and Ed continued their good form in Chengdu. Â A great effort from everyone though in China. A big thank you also to Section Manager Neil Hick and all others who helped in China. A special mention to Kate who managed to conquer the visa requirements and arranging flights and accommodation - no easy task. Â Going through a selection process like this, especially with such a huge carrot as the Olympic Games hanging in the balance, is never easy. Thank you to everyone who has trained, competed and helped to the best of their ability. In such a small sport as ours, we rely...

ASADA Warning: Methylhexaneamine

ASADA Warning: Methylhexaneamine Australian athletes are being warned by the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority to carefully consider their use of supplements following nine positive Australian test results for the prohibited stimulant methylhexaneamine. There has been increasing evidence that methylhexaneamine is present in supplements and other products and this spike in positive test results is a timely reminder to the sporting community to exercise the utmost caution in checking the contents of supplements and other products that athletes use. Athletes need to be aware that, under the policy of strict liability, they are responsible for any substance found in their body. Athletes using supplements do so at their own risk and, because of supplement manufacturing processes can lead to their contents varying from batch...

In such a small sport as ours, we rely on everyone to chip in as required.

Well done to all.

Section Manager for Modern Pentathlon for the 2012 London Olympic Games

I have much pleasure in announcing the appointment of Neil Hick as Section Manager for Modern Pentathlon for the 2012 London Olympic Games.

Neil will actually have a combined role, also acting as Fencing Section Manager.

Neil has a great deal of experience as Manager of international fencing teams and he has also toured with and coached senior and junior pentathlon athletes and teams.

Neil currently lives and works in Geelong in Victoria. He will be attending the UIPM judge’s course in January and will also be at the January and February Olympic nomination trials.

Neil’s experience, enthusiasm for and commitment to Modern Pentathlon will be a great bonus for us in the next 18 months, leading in to the Games.

I know he will make himself known to those of you he hasn’t yet met during the January competition.

I hope you all join me in welcoming him warmly.
